This is how nature looks like from my living room, when I’m painting plants from my head…
Earlier on this week, I mentioned briefly that I had spent quite a bit of time on a painting and I also mentioned my Dad’s birthday a while back and even shared with you the draft of his painting… well, he received it in the post today!

As some of you may already know, this month is World Watercolor Month. This year the event has teamed up with The Dreaming Zebra Foundation to raise awareness and funds to get art supplies for underprivileged kids.
The Dreaming Zebra Foundation is unique in that they provide an art recycling program that is free to the public. Reusable art & music supplies that would otherwise be discarded, along with new or unsold materials are donated by individuals and businesses and matched to recipients who have requested those materials for art education purposes in communities around the world – so you can give then your unwanted art supplies of buy some for them here.
I believe that nurturing Art and creativity in children is so important! Amongst many other things, it’s such a great to learn problem solving, basic DIY skills and resourcefulness.
I am always more than happy to share my sketchbooks and watercolour tools with my son and his friends when we are out and about.
Here is their celebration of watercolour during this World Water Color Month…
Here are some glimpses of my day… I have spared you the dentist appointment :)
I have also finished two paintings – one of which I have spent quite a bit of time on – but I am saving them both for in a few days time.
But here we go, here are my sketches of today:
I sat in the sun on the deck chair on my patio this am and sketched one of the blueberry plants in front of me, bathing in the morning – and already hot – sun. Yes, it’s been very hot for the last couple of days, it looks like summer is here at last!
When I was a kid I used to look forward to the summer holidays so much! I would literally count down the days until the summer break.
No school, longer days and the freedom to do whatever I wanted with my time at last…
Have you ever met your totem animal(s)?
Once upon a time there was a little girl. She had pink hair, green eyes and loved stripes.
She wanted to become a writer so she could write stories about clouds turning into dragons, teapots filled with green smoke and horses living in a magic forest ruled by a panther, ridden with trolls and elves.
