Friday Round Up or Down?

Here are a few pictures of this week in projects…

Some of them were started a while back and I only got around to finish them this week. Some were spontaneous knits -like the blue beany – or  improvised last minute changes, like the rainbow mitten. It was going to be a sock until it occurred to me that it would be such a shame for these rainbows not to be displayed where they can be seen the most, to cheer people up… On someone’s hands that is! 🌈

So that sock turned into a mitten. I am knitting the second one now ✨✨✨

The crow was started about a year ago and its various pieces had been lying in and on my – ahem living room table – all that time. It was even used as a cat bed at some point in the summer. 🐣 I’m glad it has all been assembled, sewn and is now proudly standing on its perch in my living room. I had the urge to finish it as I was revisiting some dark parts of the past this week. I re lived a very short spell of depression, I had the urge to finish the crow then. When Boy first saw it finished, he said  :”Oh! it looks just like a dementor!” – knowing that J.K Rowling said that the dementors symbolised her depression, his comment made me smile 😋 💫

My seagul needed a friend so I knitted him a bird – a female that is in London.💖

💫 Im very pleased with the blue beany with the light pink pompom. It was a real pleasure to knit, in that squishy chunky yarn. I gave it to my friend last night as it was her first kid’s 6th birthday 🎂 I thought it was also her birthday too, as it celebrates the day she gave birth to herself as a mother. I’m pleased to say that the colours suit her very, very well. I’m thinking about knitting a few them and add them on Etsy.

What do you think?

Moose is proudly sporting Boy’s hat, waiting patiently for spring to kick in – I hope he won’t be waiting too long…💨🌦

Oh and the sheep mittens are a work in progress! ☕️ 🍪

🐺 Have a lovely weekend!🐺

  1. Brilliant! I love it when I get projects that have been lying around half-finished for ages together and complete them all in one go – it feels so productive! I’m especially fond of your crow, gulls and moose-in-a-hat 😀 Enjoy your weekend, No-Amy!

  2. Even though not complete, those sheep mittens are darling! And those seagulls, and the crow…okay, they’re all just wonderful. As for completing projects that are in bits and pieces, I have a pile of squares that will one day be a blanket….if I can ever get enough of the squares made.

      1. My skinny 17-year-lady cat could sure use one, but the one I tried to make wouldn’t go over her head…despite my efforts (which she didn’t appreciate). 😼😼😼
