Thích Nhất Hạnh is a 90 year old Vietnamese Zen Master. He is a global spiritual leader, poet and peace activist, revered around the world for his powerful teachings and bestselling writings. To my opinion, he is one of the greatest teacher of our time…

“When another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his suffering is spilling over. He does not need punishment; he needs help. That’s the message he is sending.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh
His words always sooth my soul.
Although I have never met him.
I still have the unused ticket for the conference he gave in London in August 2008.
I ended up not going. Boy was only 3 months old.
My husband went. He bought me a calligraphy made by Thich Nhat Hanh himself, saying:
“Les larmes que j’ai versées hier sont devenues pluie.”
In English: “The tears I shed yesterday have become rain.”
He managed to get it framed in secret and kept it for another three months, to give it to me for my birthday.
I remember that the month following this talk, there was a strong feeling of peace and calmness surrounding us. Even though I didn’t go, I could feel his comforting presence through my husband.
I was going through a tough time, battling post natal depression – but I clearly remember that month. I felt comforted, soothed, calmer and happier.
