Summer days

creativity, My Sketch Book

When I was a kid I used to look forward to the summer holidays so much! I would literally count down the days until the summer break.

No school, longer days and the freedom to do whatever I wanted with my time at last…

As I was an only child, I’d get to spend all of my time with my cat or in the exquisite company of my gran’s dogs, at her house in rural France…

What about you? What is the thing you like the most about summer?

  1. When I was a kid, I loved being able to sleep late in the summer – and swimming. Currently I like that summer is usually a little slower paced. My favorite evenings are spent on our patio, eating a delicious meal that my hubby prepared on the grill :)

    1. That sounds like heaven :) yes I remember summer evolving around water when I was a kid… The pool or the river near my granny’s house… :)

  2. Summer reminds me of my grandma too…ironically, I had a leaning towards French as a babe…and started calling her Mimi (Meme?)…

    1. That’s interesting! Did you have a French accent as a kid??? That’s funny because I’m French but I used to speak English to myself when I was on my own, when I was a kid

      1. Ah, so you know! I always had a weird way of pronouncing words…now I see it when non-native speakers pronounce the same words…

  3. I looked more forward to the return to school as a kid (I have always been a Super Nerd), but now I love summer for the long days and excellent light for doing my art. Now you have me thinking about the inevitable winter eye strain, ugh….
