The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Socks…

Crafts, creativity, Knitting

I just finished this sock… You may remember it from WOTNW#2.

It’s mostly made with balls of yarn from this vintage stash my mum gave me:

She must have bought this yarn about forty years ago or so… Maybe even more? You may recognize Thom’s Lone Sock in the top right corner above.

Some have old labels on, some have none…

The main colour of this sock is from a ball with no label. As I have to make it stretch for two socks, I had to come up with an idea for the foot, using the yarn from the vintage stash or whatever yarn I already had, that would match with the main colour and would make for nice, comfy socks…

I thought that might work:

What do you think?

Now one sock to go :)

Have a lovely Sunday… :)

      1. Yeeeears ago… My mum used to work in a museum, and a friend of hers lent me a spinning wheel for a summer. It was fun, but there’s a lot of work involved if you want to make a usable quantity of yarn!
