DIY huarache sandals

I just made a pair of sandals for Thom…

It was fun! The most challenging part was to get the golden beads on the lace, as the holes are slightly too small. Getting my head around the loops at the back of the feet was a good brain workout too…
image I think it will take a day or two for his feet to find their place in the sandals and to get the tension of the laces right. I will need to get more beads next time too, now that I have mastered the technique to put them on…

My secret? A lighter, some pliers, scissors, and fingers (patience helps too!).

We are off to get out in the wild world (ahem, the park) to try them properly…
